    Hi @mcluckie83,
Do you still have the image of the battery gauge installed. I can't see the original one that you uploaded as it just comes up as a broken file image.
Also, when drilling the hole was that into the console itself or just the bracket of the holder ( hope that makes sense).
I think it looks tops and there is one on eBay for $99. I'm just unsure of drilling a hole in the dash itself.
Any other problems you encountered with the install?
Thanks in advance for your time.

    Hi,

Has anyone connected the optional dash light connection in the top of the Redarc wiring instructions and got it to work? I'm assuming it dims the gauge with the dimmer control on the RHS below the air vent.

After reading this entire post no one has addressed the following:
What wire is the positive park light?
Which is the negative dash light?

What one is ignition? I can get this from the radio !

    DEpends what car you've got

    2011 -2015
Parklight is A10 in purple plug.
Negative is any earth on the chassis.
Ignition could use A9 or A1n purple plug or A3 in grey plug.

    2015 - 4 cyl.
Parklight is A10 in green plug.
Negative is any earth on the chassis.
Ignition could use A15 in green plug.

    V6 with interface plugs
same as above but green and blue plugs might be swapped over.

Peter I have a 2012 Amarok Highline. Could you elaborate on what you mean by A10 , A9 or A1n in purple plug or A3 in grey plug. Where are these purple and grey plugs located. I have checked behind the stereo. See attached diagrams. The brown and grey wire from the gauge i am having trouble with.

    redarc dual battery gauge

After installing Traxideís dual battery kit for a dual battery installation. Tim from Traxide has just told me that i wonít get two different dual readings (aux. and crank battery) on my redarc dual battery gauge, because of the way his isolator functions [emoji17] . Both dual readings on gauge will be identical showing voltage from crank battery only.

The dash light circuit in the Amarok is earthed to the chassis earth and takes power from the headlight switch or dimmer if you've got one.

Any factory earth points or convenient bolt on the chassis will suffice for and earth connection for gauge illumination.

    redarc dual battery gauge

I wired the brown wire (dash light negative) off the redarc dual battery gauge to the A7 terminal purple interface plug. This allows me now to dim the gauge. Earthing this cable as per recommendations above didnít allow me to dim the gauge via the dash light Amarok dimmer dial.

Yep, A7 is the dimmer output if your car has one. Most Amaroks don't so I go for the park light circuit on A10 in the first case as it's a universal connection.

A7 is clearly labeled as such in the chart above. Reference DIN 72552 to read it. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DIN_72552
