    P0234 Limp Mode Over-boost

I bought my Highline in Jan this year. It had $77k on the clock. I drove it back from NSW to Adelaide. It had a torqit tuning module. It is a 2014 TDI420. I removed my egr and had it remapped removing the module in Feb.

Shortly after the tune it developed a problem, when driving on the freeway around 116 117km set on cruise control the car would go into limp mode. I scanned it and it came up with P0234 overboost.

Now the funny thing is a majority of the time it was happening almost at the same spot on the freeway and early into my trip. I was able to reproduce it not using the cruise control but it is harder to do. The overboost always occurs at freeway speeds. Turning the car off then on resets it.

Iíve gone back 3 times to the tuner and had the map altered lowering the boost in that range and it continued to happen.

So last week Iím back on the factory map and the overboost happened again.

The tuner has confirmed now that it is mechanical. So now we are trying a tweak at a time to fix this fault.

    Does anyone have any advice?

    Thanks

    Jason

Hey mate, have you checked the vacuum hoses for leaks, cleaned the MAF and made sure the air intake is sealed around the turbo?

Try cleaning the barometric pressure sensor as well. That's the one in the air box lid

I would check the maf sensor plug is seated into place.

Sometimes it doesn't get put back properly and throws a wobbly
